MUHMFCIG/MUHMFCOOP Members Benefit from PATNUC Digital Agriculture Project

Members of Mforya Up-Hill Mixed Farming Common Initiative Group / Cooperative (MUHMFCIG/MUHMFCOOP) have recorded a major milestone following their successful inclusion in the Project for the Acceleration of Digital Transformation of Cameroon (PATNUC), a World Bank–supported initiative led by the Government of Cameroon.

Thanks to the dynamic and vibrant leadership of the cooperative, under the able presidency of Mr. Awubung Valerie Asewgen, MUHMFCIG/MUHMFCOOP was selected as one of the producer organizations to benefit from this strategic national program aimed at transforming agriculture through digital innovation.

PATNUC seeks to increase digital inclusion and promote the use of modern digital agricultural solutions among small-scale farmers in targeted value chains such as agriculture, livestock, fisheries, and aquaculture. The project focuses on improving productivity, competitiveness, and resilience of family farms while enhancing rural livelihoods.

Through this initiative, MUHMFCIG/MUHMFCOOP members are expected to benefit from:

• Access to digital agricultural solutions for livestock and crop production,
• Improved data-based farm management and decision-making,
• Strengthened links to markets and veterinary services,
• Capacity building in ICT skills and agribusiness innovation,
• Greater visibility and integration into Cameroon’s growing digital ecosystem.

PATNUC is structured around four major components: digital strategy and regulation, digital connectivity and inclusion, facilitation of data-based solutions in agriculture, and project management with citizen engagement. These components will enable cooperatives like MUHMFCIG/MUHMFCOOP to modernize their operations and align with national development goals under Cameroon’s NDS30 strategy.

This achievement reflects the cooperative’s long-standing commitment to innovation, sustainable mixed farming, and community empowerment. It also demonstrates how strong leadership and unity among members can open doors to impactful national and international opportunities.
